Dear Parents, We had a great week! In language arts, we learned the sound the letters 'h' and ‘u’ make. We read the story "Duck and Goose", we wrote in our journals about something we like to do with a friend. When we read “Curious George’s Dinosaur Discovery”, and we discussed what happened first, next and last. The word 'read' was added to the word jar and we practiced the words on the word wall. We learned the -ug word family and listed words that fit in that family. In math, we continued to practice subtracting numbers. In religion, we talked about ways in which we are blessed and the Beattitudes. We talked about how that makes us feel. We made necklaces that say “We are blessed”. For homework, have your child read “All Snug” to you. For the writing assignment, have your child write about a way they feel ‘all snug’. Please remember to let your child sound spell the words and write what they intended to write underneath. Please do not spell the words for them. They also have reading and math pages to complete. This is due by Wednesday. Don't forget to fill out the homework assessment page! Thanks. Utensils…We are almost out of spoons and forks! If anyone can donate some to the class, we would greatly appreciate it! Thanks! Report Cards…Report cards will be distributed Friday, March 17. Please keep the report card and sign and return the envelope. Thanks! Have a great weekend! Mrs. Vikki Mayberry [email protected] |
